Job Description

Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Payrate: $120K+ (Direct Hire)

The Supply Chain Manager will lead and manage supply chain, procurement, receiving, shipping, and inventory operations across two sites. This role is key in developing and executing the organization's supply chain strategy, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely availability of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage supply chain, procurement, receiving, shipping, and inventory operations across two sites.
  • Strategically identify suppliers, develop and maintain relationships, and negotiate buys, focusing on commercial electronics, medical products, and physical hard medical goods.
  • Drive commodity management and vendor sourcing decisions, with an emphasis on metal/hardware experience being a strong plus.
  • Oversee and support buyer staff while directly managing procurement strategies and source selection (min/max stock levels, demand forecasts, lead time planning).
  • Ensure strong execution in inventory planning and control using methodologies like FIFO, LIFO, and min/max.
  • Conduct advanced planning to identify and resolve bottlenecks (e.g., adjusting for 6-week vs. 10-week lead times).
  • Analyze data from shipping, delivery, and supply chain processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of supply chain operations.
  • Maintain supply chain inventory, records, and documentation.
  • Train, guide, and manage employees, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies for improving supply chain efficiency.
  • Resolve issues such as delays in delivery, supply shortages, or accidents to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop coordinated plans for business growth.
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure profitable contracts and favorable terms.
  • Ensure supply chain operations meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Key Traits/Experience:

  • Supply Chain Focused: Clear understanding and experience in strategic procurement, vendor relationships, and inventory management.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Experience in high mix/low volume manufacturing environments.
  • Hardware/Material Component Supply Chain: Strong preference for hardware/material component supply chain experience (though not required).
  • Experience Level: 5-8 years' experience in buyer or commodity manager roles, with potential experience in contract manufacturing settings.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with non-aerospace industries, including niche sourcing challenges and a limited supplier base.
  • ERP Systems: Experience working with ERP systems and ability to articulate system usage, demand tracking (ERP-generated vs. Excel-based planning).

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: BA in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills. Excellent attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities. Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance. For unincorporated Los Angeles county, to the extent our customers require a background check for certain positions, the Company faces a significant risk to its business operations and business reputation unless a review of criminal history is conducted for those specific job positions.
