What You Will Do: Promote a team environment that is able to share ideas and responsibilities Ensure software engineers at various levels of experience have the support and resources they need to be successful Provide technical, administrative and financial direction to team members and set priorities Provide guidance to direct reports on application of the Software Development Process across the Life Cycle activities for Software Development Programs Support recruitment and hiring activities to open and fill requisitions Perform supervisory duties such as performance reviews, corrective action plans, recommendations for promotions, rewards and recognitions, timecard approval Responsible for ensuring company, site, and program processes are followed Provide support to program business activities e.g. contract deliverable documents, proposals, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost/labor estimates, customer directed quick-turn tasks Represent the team and highlight accomplishments to customer representatives Job Location is in Aurora, CO What You Will Learn: Leadership & Talent Development – Boost your leadership skills by mentoring a team of engineers, driving talent development initiatives, and shaping the next generation of software professionals Strategic Process Improvement & Quality Enhancement – Play a key role in refining software development processes, driving efficiency, and implementing lessons learned to elevate team performance Cross-Functional Collaboration & Impact – Collaborate with engineering leaders, program managers, and technical experts to influence projects and contribute to solutions Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires University Degree in STEM and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience 5+ years software/system/product development experience Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle Experience with DevOps practices and Atlassian Tool suite Interest in creation or improvement of engineering development processes Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Qualifications we prefer: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience working with lots of client communication both in person and remote. Please consider the following role type definition as you apply for this role Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
