NORTHokc Methodist Church (Oklahoma City, OK) – Senior Pastor The Big Picture NORTHokc Methodist Church (northokcmethodist.church) is searching for a Senior Pastor. We are a Global Methodist church and a church plant that started about 14 months ago. We seek a Senior Pastor who is excited about church planting, preferably with experience in it, and who is interested or already ordained in the Global Methodist denomination. We value our Wesleyan roots and seek a leader who believes in the Bible as the truth. The Senior Pastor (SP) will oversee the spiritual health and direction of the church, with advisory oversight from the Staff Parish Relations Committee. The role requires a strong understanding of the beliefs, values, and strategy of the Global Methodist Church and North OKC Methodist Church, and the ability to align staff and leadership with its mission. The SP will provide pastoral leadership and ensure that church systems, practices, and policies support its ministries effectively. Responsibilities The Senior Pastor will be responsible for the following: Ensuring the Spiritual Health of the Church: Establish and monitor the discipleship strategy, engaging members in worship, spiritual growth, service, and fulfilling the mission to make disciples. This includes: Defining a discipleship path for individuals. Modeling discipleship with leaders and staff. Providing biblical teaching and vision casting. Empowering staff and laypeople to implement discipleship strategies. Monitoring spiritual health and accountability. Modeling Biblical Priorities: Uphold biblical values and demonstrate a growing relationship with Christ. Lead by example in personal integrity, evangelism, and giving, supporting church ministries and embodying qualities of a church employee. Oversight of Worship Experiences: Ensure excellence in worship through communication, decision-making, networking, and relational skills. Responsibilities include: Delivering relevant, biblically sound messages aligned with Wesleyan theology. Partnering with teams to plan worship and creative elements. Guiding message series and creative planning. Strategic Leadership and Planning: Clarify and promote the church’s vision and values. Oversee strategic planning, staff and lay leader coordination, and goal setting. This involves: Leading vision casting and goal setting. Monitoring ministry progress through research and evaluation. Aligning staffing, facilities, and programs with strategic goals. Assisting with financial functions like stewardship campaigns, contributions, payroll, leases, and budgets. Reproducing the Church: Pursue opportunities for ministry expansion beyond Oklahoma City by: Developing growth strategies leveraging existing resources. Partnering with other Global Methodist entities and initiatives. Creating resources for staff and lay leaders to increase ministry impact. Staff Supervision and Development: Lead, evaluate, and mentor staff. Responsibilities include: Supervising day-to-day ministry activities. Championing discipleship and leadership development. Overseeing hiring and dismissal processes. Coaching staff and evaluating organizational structure changes.
