Senior Actuarial Analyst - Excess Casualty At AIG, we are reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. Join us as a Senior Actuarial Analyst, Excess Casualty, to take on key responsibilities within a world-class actuarial function. Make your mark in Actuarial Our actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing, and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage, and mitigate risk. How you will create an impact We seek an actuarial professional with industry expertise to assist with reserving the Excess Casualty business. The Senior Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for: Annual deep dive reserve reviews Quarterly reserve monitoring Current accident year loss ratio review Booking the quarter close Preparing reinsurance submissions They will partner with other reserving actuaries to implement best practices, collaborate with pricing actuaries to assess loss trends and claims emergence, and work with the claims department to evaluate the impact of litigation environment changes. Responsibilities include: Analyzing projected future liabilities of Excess Casualty, including Excess General Liability, Auto Liability, and Environmental liabilities. Working closely with underwriting to understand portfolio changes and recommending strategies for profitable growth. Monitoring loss trends, industry/regulatory changes, and communicating insights to management. Collaborating with the claims department on litigation environment impacts. Partnering with pricing actuaries to inform reserve development and understand pricing and underwriting impacts. Developing best practices in reserving techniques, including MCMC and GLMs, for implementation across the business. What you’ll need to succeed Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field Three or more actuarial exams completed At least 2 years of experience in commercial casualty lines (e.g., GL, Excess, Auto) Proficiency in Excel, Snowflake, SQL, Python, R, or similar programming languages preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in teams Strong business acumen and collaboration skills, responsive to operational needs Effective time management skills Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Customer-focused attitude The base salary range is $110,000-$130,000, and the position is eligible for a bonus per the applicable incentive plan.
