Job Description

A retail stocker, also known as a stock clerk or inventory clerk, is responsible for ensuring that stock shelves are filled and organized so that staff can find what they're looking for. Their duties include:

• Receiving and unloading: Receiving goods, unloading trucks and deliveries
• Stocking and maintaining supplies for sales staff and/or store function. Putting products on shelves and in storage areas
• Moving merchandise out in an organized and timely matter while communicating with sales team as to what is needed
• Inventory: Counting inventory, verifying product counts
• Pricing: Adding price tags to items, hanging and steaming
• Cleaning: Keeping retail and storage areas clean, vacuuming, dusting, etc

Some qualifications for a retail stocker job include:

• Ability to lift heavy items
• Good organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
