Job Description:

Dr. Karen Knee is seeking a skilled writer and web designer to create a website about water quality in American Samoa, a US territory in the South Pacific.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and creating an attractive, engaging website.
• Formatting scientific data so that it can be easily downloaded and used.
• Writing non-technical summaries of scientific papers and other content for the website.

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work:

• Part-Time.
• 5 hours per week during Summer and Fall of 2025.
• Hybrid or fully remote options available.

Salary Range:

• $22 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• Ability to read, understand, and summarize scientific journal articles about environmental science and water quality.
• Format and export spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
• Write in a clear, accurate, and engaging way about complex scientific topics (in English).
• Create a website with customized structure, design and content.
• Complete tasks on time or communicate clearly about any changes or delays with their supervisor.
• Work independently.
• Accept feedback in a positive way.
