PRODUCT MANAGEMENT What We Do Product Management partners with game development, publishing, marketing, and platform teams to provide a data and market-driven view of product strategy that aligns with business goals. What You'll Do Epic Games is developing the next generation of creative tools that will empower developers and artists to bring emotionally rich characters and immersive worlds to life. We’re focused on enhancing storytelling and expression through new, powerful systems that combine character animation, voice and narrative. This role is at the center of defining how creators interact with this innovative technology to craft compelling, realistic, and stylized performances across games, film, and interactive media. We are looking for a creative and technically astute Product Director who understands what makes characters engaging and believable—from the subtleties of animation to the rhythm of dialogue and emotional delivery. In this role, you will spearhead the strategic vision for these groundbreaking tools, collaborating with R&D, animation, narrative, and engineering teams to develop experimental prototypes and refine them into production-ready toolsets. In this role, you will Lead the product strategy for next-generation content and animation tools focused on character performance, narrative, and expressive media Directly contribute to the crafting of prototype experiences that set a new quality standard and demonstrate the effectiveness of our tools and workflows Partner with design, R&D, and creative teams to develop pipelines that support dynamic and high-quality character experiences Define success metrics, creative quality standards, and usability benchmarks to guide product development Work closely with content creators—animators, writers, technical artists—to deeply understand their workflows and challenges and advocate for creators and user-centric design in the development of innovative content creation tools Drive the product roadmap in alignment with both internal content team needs and broader platform vision Ensure integration and compatibility with Epic’s existing toolsets/pipelines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Control Rig, Sequencer, MetaHuman) What we're looking for 8+ years of product management experience with a focus on creative tools, character pipelines, or animation systems Deep understanding of character performance and animation workflows, including facial animation, body motion, voice, and narrative integration Experience shipping content-focused products or tools in games, film, interactive media, or virtual production environments Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams across creative and technical domains Strong systems thinker with a user-first mindset and attention to detail Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience in building consensus across diverse stakeholders Familiarity with Unreal Engine's animation and narrative tools (e.g., MetaHuman, Sequencer, Control Rig) Background in technical art, animation direction, or narrative systems design Experience working with emerging creative technologies and rapidly evolving pipelines This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including CA). Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience.
