The Maintenance Technician at the Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville Flagler Center is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as assigned. 

\n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

\n

 

\n
    \n
  1. Participate in the preventative maintenance program.
  2. \n
  3. Perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  4. \n
  5. Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel facilities.
  6. \n
  7. Effectively and professionally communicates with guests, co-workers, and supervisor.
  8. \n
  9. Ensures all fire and safety inspections and protocols are completed, and any discrepancies are corrected.
  10. \n
  11. Collaborates with vendors and suppliers to discuss scope of, and products and materials used in, repair activities.
  12. \n
  13. Obtains pricing and bids or develops cost estimates as needed.
  14. \n
  15. Monitors tools, supplies and inventories of maintenance department.
  16. \n
  17. Places orders with approved vendors as needed.
  18. \n
  19. Maintains working spaces in safe and clean condition.
  20. \n
  21. Communicates directly with front desk for guest service request issues, housekeeping for work orders, General Manager for orders and capital expenditure projects.
  22. \n
  23. Carry all equipment to be prepared to always carry out work tasks.
  24. \n
  25. Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  26. \n
  27. Other Duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  3. Verbal and written communication skills.
  4. \n
  5. Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
  6. \n
  7. Reasoning abilities are always utilized.
  8. \n
  9. Basic maintenance skills required.
  10. \n
  11. Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, test equipment.
  12. \n
  13. Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing. 
  14. \n
  15. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  16. \n
  17. Must have a desire to serve all guests.
  18. \n
  19. Must be 18 years of age or older to perform this job.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\n

    \n
  1. Technical, Trade or Vocational school degree.
  2. \n
  3. Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
  4. \n
  5. At least 2 years of work-related experience
  6. \n
  7. Carry all equipment (e.g., keys, phones, pager, tools, radio) to maintain preparedness to always carry out work tasks.
  8. \n
  9. Experience in a hotel, apartment, or a related field
  10. \n
