WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Landscape Designer is an entry-level position designed to develop foundational professional skills while gaining hands-on experience within the firm. This role involves hand drawing, extensive CAD work, and utilizing graphic and visual communication tools to support design projects. Additionally, the Landscape Designer I will assist across all levels of the Planning & Landscape Architecture (PLA) Line of Business at Dunaway, gaining broad exposure to the practice and contributing to a variety of projects.

Once selected to join our team, you will:

• Draft drawings in accordance with Line of Business (LOB) standards and senior leadership directives.
• Develop CAD plans and details for construction, irrigation, and planting, ensuring alignment with LOB standards.
• Assist in graphic plan production using both hand-drawn and computer-generated graphics.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure proper file storage within the company network.
• Provide project task updates to management and communicate progress effectively.
• Attend meetings and presentations, taking detailed notes and contributing as needed.
• Gain an understanding of client relationships and industry best practices within Landscape Architecture.
• Support the preparation of area and quantity take-offs and assist in estimating probable construction costs at various project phases.
• Contribute to the implementation of office and AutoCAD standards to maintain workflow consistency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Basic proficiency in CAD software, Adobe Suite, and 3D visualization tools.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.AutoCAD and Adobe Suite

SKILLS:

• Foundational understanding of Landscape Architecture principles and industry standards.
• Ability to take direction and work independently toward defined goals.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and design capabilities.
• Basic communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients.

EXPERIENCE:

• 0-2 years of experience in Landscape Architecture

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
