We are looking for a
Production Team Lead who will be responsible for leading a production line at our spice manufacturing facility. A production team lead is a working, hands-on position with increased responsibility for a production line. Individuals in this position are responsible for the product and machine checks associated with their line. They demonstrate outstanding commitment to improving themselves and more importantly the people around them. The position reports to our Production Supervisor and is scheduled Monday-Friday, 6:45am to 3:45pm and based at our facility in Elk Grove Village, IL.
Responsibilities - Operate machinery including but not limited to All Fill, Sealing Machine, Label machines and scales.
- Fulfill all daily scheduled jobs for the assigned production lines.
- Responsible for overseeing the daily set up, tear down, stocking, cleanliness, and general organization of the production and processing areas
- Responsible for filling out and completing company regulatory forms.
- Maintain and reinforce daily performance goals dictated by management to production team members
- Provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees alongside the Supervisor
- Enforce workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
- Assist the production supervisor in planning and implementing strategies to meet daily goals.
- Ensure all established cleaning and sanitation procedures are followed.
- Ensure all quality checks are performed properly at required intervals.
- Ensures quality and consistency of all product in use and communicates any possible discrepancy to management. This may include but is not limited to in-house created product consistency and accuracy and quality and cleanliness of out-of-house sourced raw product.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory through electronic inventory system
- Coach and support new and existing staff, suggesting different techniques to help staff performance and hitting team KPIs
- Acting as a liaison between staff and management, ensuring that communication is done in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with management on entering and tracking daily production work and tracking progress of weekly and monthly objectives
- Ensure that standard operating procedures, company policies, GMPs and health and safety procedures are followed
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have experience working on and leading a production line, food experience a plus!
- Must be fluent in English (read, write and speak) and bilingual in spoken Spanish
- Strong people and team leadership skills
- Must be computer literate and mechanically inclined
- Understands and can perform all quality checks on product and equipment
- Ability to follow all Spice House general work rules, policies, procedures, safety rules, guidelines and GMP's

Reports To: Production Supervisor
Classification: Non-exempt
Pay: Position starts at $20/hr plus bonus potential
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a non-exempt full time position. Standard work days are Monday through Friday. Shift hours are determined by production needs but start at 6:45am and generally go until 3:30-3:45pm. When overtime is required, employees in this position are expected to work the required hours.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to read, count and write accurately. Must be able to climb ladders, Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and move items that can weigh up to 50 pounds. Spice House, LLC
