About the Role ProNexus is looking for senior finance leaders to oversee all financial activities and functions for our clients. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Finance provides strategic financial leadership, drives financial performance, and ensures the integrity of financial reporting. This role plays a critical role in shaping the organization's financial strategy, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities: Financial Strategy and Planning Develop and implement strategic financial plans, policies, and objectives in alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives. Lead the annual budgeting process, forecasting, and financial planning efforts to support business growth and profitability. Evaluate investment opportunities, capital projects, and strategic initiatives to maximize shareholder value. Financial Reporting and Analysis Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings to provide accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders. Conduct in-depth financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance metrics tracking to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and market trends. Treasury and Cash Management Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure sufficient funds for operations and strategic initiatives. Develop and implement cash management strategies, including investment strategies, debt management, and financing arrangements. Monitor banking relationships, credit facilities, and compliance with debt covenants. Risk Management and Compliance Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal controls. Oversee internal audit processes and external audit engagements to maintain financial integrity and transparency. Capital Allocation and Investment Strategy Evaluate capital allocation decisions, including capital expenditures, acquisitions, and divestitures, to optimize returns and manage risk. Assess investment opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships to support business growth and expansion. Develop and communicate investment strategies and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors. Leadership and Team Management Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring the finance team has the skills and capabilities to support organizational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and marketing, to drive organizational success and achieve financial goals. Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, board members, investors, and financial institutions. Communicate financial performance, strategies, and risks effectively to stakeholders, providing transparency and clarity. Represent the organization in financial matters, negotiations, and presentations to external parties. Qualifications: Non-profit Experience Experience with Medicaid Billing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation preferred. Minimum 5+ years* of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, with demonstrated success in financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership. *Please note that ProNexus welcomes anyone to apply, including those that have 25+ years of experience and are willing to be hands on to perform the scope of work required by a client. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. Strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate market trends, assess risks, and develop proactive strategies to drive financial success. Experience in a customer service role / client facing, public accounting, consulting or advisory roles is advantageous. The role of a Director of Finance requires a combination of strategic vision, financial expertise, leadership capabilities, and effective communication skills to drive financial performance, support business objectives, and create long-term value for an organization.
